According to recent reports, Volvo and Polestar are developing small electric crossovers, but the two will not share the same platform. Among them, Volvo's new car is expected to be manufactured in China. The car will be built based on Geely SEA's vast architecture and may be unveiled in 2023. Its rival will be the Mercedes-Benz EQA.

Volvo’s new small electric crossover will be built using Geely’s SEA vast architecture. The first model of this "open source" architecture is the ZEEKR 001, which comes with a choice of 86 kWh or 100 kWh battery packs. For reference, Volvo's upcoming crossover has a range of up to 700 kilometers.

Polestar's new crossover will be positioned between Polestar 2 and Polestar 3, and it will have the same features as Polestar Star 3 similar fastback style. In terms of power system, Polestar's new crossover is basically the same as the Volvo C40 Recharge, which means it will come from the CMA platform. It is expected that the new car will be equipped with a 64 kWh or 78 kWh battery and a single or dual motor power system.
