In the summer of 2022, the Inner Mongolia prairie will have green grass and a pleasant climate, making it a rare safe travel destination amid the epidemic.

I was invited to participate in GAC Toyota's 2022 "Landa Brothers Journey Season 3 Hulunbuir Station". It was very enjoyable on the prairie. I test drove GAC Toyota Highlander, Wilanda, Fenglanda.

I believe everyone is very familiar with Highlander and Weilanda. Since their launch, sales have been leading the same class. Although Fenglanda has not been on the market for a long time, its sales momentum is strong.

Let’s first look at a set of sales data recently released by GAC Toyota.

According to statistics, Highlander sold 7,119 units in July 2022, ranking first in hybrid SUV sales for 11 consecutive months.

Weilanda sold 12,652 units in July 2022, ranking among the top three joint venture medium-sized SUVs for four consecutive months. Since its launch two years ago, its cumulative sales have exceeded 280,000 units, of which four-wheel drive models account for nearly 40%;

Fenglanda sales volume reached 9,061 units in July, maintaining its hot-selling momentum.

This time on the grassland, I focused on experiencing Fenglanda.

Fenglanda is built on the TNGA-C platform and follows the customary low center of gravity, wide body and high rigidity design of TNGA models.

It is equipped with the same 2.0L Dynamic Force naturally aspirated engine as the Camry and Veranda, with a maximum power of 126kW and a peak torque of 205N·m.

The transmission part is matched with a Direct Shift CVT continuously variable transmission that can simulate 10 gears. Gears 1-2 are driven by gears, making the speed-up response faster.

Driving on the grassland, Fenglanda's power performance is smooth and it is still the familiar Toyota family SUV style. Its power adjustment is mainly for comfort and smoothness. The power output in the front section of the accelerator pedal is relatively dense and smooth, giving people a smooth feeling when driving.

Driving on grass, the road surface is complex and changeable, and the grass has many potholes, which is a great test of the vehicle's power and chassis.

Compared with some turbocharged models, I prefer the smooth power output of naturally aspirated engines like Landa, because it can better ensure driving comfort on bumpy grass.

In terms of chassis suspension, Front Landa uses a combination of front MacPherson strut and rear torsion beam. This is also GAC Toyota's first model to use non-independent rear suspension under the TNGA architecture.

Fortunately, the performance of new car chassis based on Toyota's TNGA architecture has never let us down, and Landa has also maintained a high level of performance.

Running on non-paved roads, gravel roads, and grass can give people very solid feedback. The shaking of the car is also suppressed well, and the body bounce is not particularly stiff, and it is handled delicately enough. Driving on unpaved roads gives you confidence.

Compared with the Highlander and Veranda that I have test-driven before, Fenglanda actually has the characteristics of Toyota cars. It continues the smooth, comfortable and dynamic driving characteristics of Toyota cars.

Cars have now become an indispensable means of transportation for people to travel. Cars are also a carrier for people to expand their understanding of the world, explore the unknown, advocate freedom, and pursue high-quality life.

People say that what kind of car you buy will lead you to a certain kind of life, and your personality and attitude will also be reflected in the car you choose.

GAC Toyota packages the three SUVs Highlander, Wilanda, and Landa as "Landa Brothers", which is impressive.

Among them, the Highlander, as the flagship model of GAC Toyota's SUV, promotes the upgrading of the brand; the Wilanda enters the mid-size SUV market in multiple dimensions and develops four-wheel drive SUV segments. Market segmentation; Fenglanda penetrates lower-tier markets and expands base customers with its young and cost-effective product highlights.

Nowadays, when everyone is anxious about the battery life, charging and safety of new energy vehicles, why not consider mature fuel vehicles to travel to meet their unrestricted lifestyle needs.
