On November 5, Hyundai’s new hydrogen fuel-powered vehicle Nexo was unveiled at the 7th China International Import Expo. According to previous news, the new car will be officially launched in 2025. Hyundai Motor Group has proposed that it will become the first automobile manufacturer in the world to equip all its commercial models with hydrogen fuel cell systems in 2028.
In terms of appearance, the front face of the new car is equipped with an inverted trapezoidal air intake grille and does not adopt a closed design. The headlight set adopts a split design with a built-in full LED light source. There is also a daytime running light strip that runs through the entire front face, which not only increases the visual width of the front face, but also brings certain technological effects.
The side waistline of the car is smooth, and the body height of 1640mm creates a visual effect like a crossover. In addition, the hydrogenation port of the new car is located on the left rear fender.
The tail light group also adopts a triangular design. The light strip appears silver during the day and turns red when the light source is turned on., forming a sharp contrast. In addition, we can see the Fuel Cell logo representing hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in the lower right corner of the trunk lid.
In terms of interior, the new car adopts an enveloping cockpit design. The central control is equipped with dual screens and is equipped with a wealth of active safety configurations, including forward anti-collision warning, lane keeping assist, etc.
In terms of power, Nexo power consists of a hydrogen fuel system + hydrogen fuel cell + electric motor. The maximum power of the motor is 120kW and the peak torque can reach 395N·m. The main working logic is that hydrogen and oxygen react chemically to generate electrical energy. The electrical energy drives the motor or is stored by the hydrogen fuel cell. The motor drives the vehicle, and the only emission is water.
